The Director General of Research at Generalitat de Catalunya visits the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre of Catalonia (CMCiB)

On 27 January, Teresa Sanchis, Director General of Research at the Department of Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, visited the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre of Catalonia (CMCiB), a strategic project of Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).

During her visit, she met with IGTP's Management team -Jordi Barretina, general director, Júlia García Prado, scientific director, and Carles Esquerré, managing director- and with CMCiB's team -Sara Capdevila, technical director, Míriam Gironès, business development director, and Gemma Monté, head of the Bioimaging Unit. Sanchis learned more about the ongoing projects, capabilities and future lines of action of CMCiB, and also had the opportunity to visit the centre's state-of-the-art facilities.

It was a valuable occasion to share strategic priorities and to underline the importance of strengthening the Catalan research ecosystem through close collaboration between institutions, industry, and society.
