Can Ruti Campus remains a globally significant scientific centre due to its medical and research staff
The Can Ruti Campus and the healthcare and research teams from the various institutions that form it continue, for another year, to stand out as a global scientific hub in terms of production and scientific advancement.
Once again, the names of around thirty renowned professionals - from the Hospital and the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), the Fight Infections Foundation, IrsiCaixa, the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), and the Institut Català d'Oncologia (ICO) - appear on a global list of scientists who have achieved the highest impact through their publications and citations.
This list is the latest update of Elsevier's Scopus database, a leading global publisher in Medicine and Health Sciences. It includes around 200,000 authors, covering 22 research fields and 174 sub-fields, based on bibliometric data.
Selection criteria include factors such as the number of publications, the quality of the journals they have published in, the number of citations received throughout their career, and other indicators that reflect the influence and prestige of their scientific contributions. The final list includes those in the top 2% or higher of their area of expertise worldwide.
The list categorises professionals into two groups: those recognised for their impact over the past year and those recognised for their entire scientific career.
