IGTP closes another round of La Marató visits to its laboratories

Once again, the "Visita la recerca" program of Fundació La Marató de TV3 has successfully concluded at Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), where a score of collaborators had the opportunity to discover firsthand the research projects supported through this charitable initiative. IGTP collaborates annually with these visits, which become a privileged platform to directly connect with the community, highlighting the significant work of the researchers. In addition to promoting scientific dissemination, these visits encourage collaborations and create essential bonds for the acquisition of more resources, thereby expanding the impact of medical research on society.

On this occasion, the project "Hospital Admission and Mortality of COVID-19 after Initial Discharge and the Impact of SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination among People Living with HIV", also supported by La Marató during the COVID 2020 call, was explained to attendees by Andreu Bruguera, field coordinator of the PISCIS cohort at the Centre for Epidemiological Studies on HIV/AIDS and STI of Catalonia (CEEISCAT). The presentation also featured Joan Puñet, head of the Scientific and Technical Cytometry Platform, and Eugeni Aragall, head of Cryobiology.

From March to June 2024, 15 research centres have participated in the organisation of 44 visits, allowing scores of people to closely learn about the commitment and dedication of the researchers through an intense exercise of social return of research.
